15 Things Telecommuters Miss About Working in an Office
Just to get a break from the monotony of everyday tasks, I emailed my team (both regular and part-timers) to share the things they miss about working in an office.
Here’s what they had to say.
- Regular pay
- Having people (cool officemates, at that) around while working. Working by yourself can be a bit lonely sometimes. A little chat can refresh the mind. There are times Instant Messaging isn’t enough.
- “Let’s go downstairs for coffee” and other quick, fun food stuff found around to nourish the office person. Thanks to 7-11, Mercury Drug, Mini Stop, KFC, McDonald’s, Jollibee, Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, etc.
- Free AC
- Free exercise we get from walking to and from the office
- (Group) Birthday celebrations
- Lunch breaks with officemates
- Getting dressed up. Wearing high heeled shoes or closed shoes since I often wear Havs and sandals more often. Even putting on perfumes, make ups, and even my loose powder.
- Getting up early in the morning
- Commuting to work (Taking trains, shuttle service, and crossing the streets).
- After-office-hours activity spree (shopping or just hanging out)
- Taking the elevator. LOL.
- Variety of job assignments
- Singing the Bayang Magiliw (Philippine National Anthem) each Monday morning!
- Meetings/gatherings but not super large group. I used to have such cool officemates.
By the way, the list is in no particular order.
This is Day #2 of 31-Day (Blogging) Challenge.
